It’s funny how it seems like just yesterday that we screamed ‘Happy new month’ for the month of February after the slow weeks that January presented to us.
I cannot believe that we’re drawing closer to our exam period, we should have just stayed in January for three more years.
The month of February was one that will never be forgotten in a long time, especially by Unilag students as this was the month we were shown pepper the most. It also doubled as one of the most dramatic months for us. I’ve highlighted some of my favorite memories February birthed for me. Sit back, relax and enjoy.
⁃ The closeup cool like that party, it’s publicity which I spearheaded in Unilag. The turnout still gives me good dreams everytime I sleep.
⁃ Black panther coming out to scatter the whole month for everybody, let’s not even divulge into this because my excitement is still raging, followed by my locked outside episode right after watching black panther.
⁃ Our NASU guys showing us what superiority felt like after turning off the school lights for weeks and ruining people’s valentines. The ones who never did anything for valentine, except watch movies on their laptops or watch BBnaija in the common room were not awarded that luxury this month as there was no light to even follow through. They ended up watching people bring in gifts from their valentines and watching people go out for their valentine dinners while they stayed back and laid silent curses on NASU.
⁃ The postponement of convocation which also led to the postponement of Edutainment to the pain of people like us who had already started taking purgatives so our stomachs would be convocation ready.
⁃ The case of the snake swallowing our 36 million naira from Jamb office for reasons best known to it. When I say we’re a joke of a country, it will seem like I’m disrespecting my country but our leaders did not let us finish processing that zobo before coming out again to tell us that monkey swallowed one kind certain amount of money too. I always knew that we had a sense of humor as a country, I just didn’t know that we were our own jokes that created our sense of humor.
⁃ The bill passed in lagos state about eligibility to enter the university only being valid if you did and passed Yoruba. Heaven knows that I’ve never been more grateful to not have had these things happen during my time. I only now fear for my siblings.
⁃ Tobi, our very own Unilag alumni switching up on us after two weeks of playing the fool. Unilag boys, that is what a Yoruba demon looks and behaves like, not that downgraded version you guys display by licking lips under your visors with only your fine faces as assets. Please, get out!!
⁃ Me having my first, second and third boat rides in one month. I am bold!! Don’t argue with me.
⁃ My taking the bold and next step that reshaped me and made me more serious with my life – the launching of this blog which you currently are reading this from. God never fails to make me surprise myself.
⁃ Charity with art!!! The grounds that shook under the feet of awesomely creative geniuses.
⁃ The emergence of social media week.
⁃ Tobi getting back together with CCTV after all our praises. Unilag boys, ignore what I said up there, read your books. Thanks.
⁃The start of 76 hours marathon praise at the Redemption camp.
A lot of things happened this February but these are my most fondest memories. March, please be great to me because my big 20 is drawing closer.
Happy new months guys.
